The Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration (Vegagerðin) requests bids for the construction of two new bridges over Steinavötn and Fellsá rivers, as well as the road construction of Route 1 in Suðursveit to connect the new bridges. Rivers´ pathways shall be diverted from the construction sites and once the bridges are finished put back so the rivers flow under the new bridges.

— elevation and widening of road and road connections to a new bridge over Steinavötn on an 880-m long section,
— road widening and connections to a new bridge over Fellsá on a 400-m long section,
— bridge over Steinavötn is post-tensioned reinforced concrete in four spans. Abutments and intermediate supports are of reinforced concrete. The total length of the bridge is 100 m and the total width 10 m. The abutments are of reinforced concrete supported on concrete piles,
