The project consists of tender design that is a part of widening of a 9 km section of Hringvegur (1), near Kjalarnes (about 25 km outside Reykjavik City). The works include widening of a 9 km section from 2 lanes to 2 + 1 lanes, three new roundabouts, approximately 12 km of minor roads, 2 new concrete underpasses and 3 steel underpasses, and approximately 3,4 km pedestrian and bike trails.
