The municipalities of Reykjavík, Mosfellsbær, Seltjarnanesbær, Kópavogsbær, Hafnarfjarðarbær and Garðabær have reached an agreement regarding snow-making system in the ski areas of the capital area. The agreement means that during 2020-2024, the municipalities will be investing in the renewal of their snow-making system. ON Power (Orka náttúrunnar) plans to drill 3 fresh water wells in Engidalur for Hellisheidi Power Plant. Engidalur is defined as a water conservation field and is located approximately 5 km north of Hellisheidi Power Plant. There is a gravel road from the Power Plant to the drill site in Engidalur.
