The project involves the collection of waste from waste and recycling bins at all homes and institutions in the municipality in urban areas and in rural areas in the municipality.

There are 4 containers that are sorted by certain colors. The color system is being changed so that it is coordinated and the municipality will coordinate colors with the Fenúr color system. Further information can be found at www.fenur.is. It will take some time to adjust, but today the colors of the municipality are as follows:

• mixed waste is gray but will be black according to Fenúr;

• paper and cardboard are blue in this tender, but cardboard will be brown according to Fenúr;

• plastic waste is green today but will be purple according to Fenúr;

• it is organic in brown barrels today but will be green according to Fenúr.

The contractor shall also take care of the disposal of all waste, unless otherwise stated in the project description, and the contractor will take care of the costs of the processing fund to cover the costs.

In the event of a change in the disposal of waste during the contract period, this shall be negotiated separately.

The buyer will provide barrels for collection at homes and institutions of the municipality as needed up to 1100 l baskets, The municipality's container area is in several places as well as local stations.

Local stations are there to increase the level of service to property owners and get them on a team to improve sorting. Further description of the neighborhood stop later in the data.

The frequency of collecting containers is assumed to be every 3 to 4 weeks on organic containers, but every 6 weeks on other containers.

The contractor shall prepare educational material and, in collaboration with the buyer, provide education for the inhabitants of the municipality with a view to reducing waste generation and improving sorting.

The buyer reserves the right to change the arrangement of collection, containers, frequency of emptying, disposal of waste categories and change other arrangements for waste management. Like canceling a job.
