Ríkiskaup (The State Trading Centre), which is the center for governmental purchase of goods and services in Iceland, on behalf of Landspítali – University Hospital (LSH), Laundry at Tunguháls 2, Reykjavík, invites Tenders for purchase of a Total Detergent System (TDS) for washing of linen and service for quality monitoring of the system.
The tender specifications concern the supply of a Total Detergents System (TDS) and other chemicals needed to wash and process all linen at the Landspitali Hospital Laundry. The detergents and chemicals shall be widely used and accepted. Service for the system shall also be tendered according to the minimum requirements listed in these Tender Documents.
This is a turnkey project such that the Tenderer shall install the TDS and make all necessary adjustments in order to have the optimal washing solution in operation before leaving site. Two weeks after final installation and all adjustments of the TDS have been made, standard samples for both wear of linen and the washing quality will be sent for testing to the Danish Technological Institute (DTI). Only when the results, from these samples are acceptable, will the contract be signed and an agreement between parties be final.
The washing method is by a Kannegiesser Power Trans Continuous Tunnel Batch Washer (CTBW), top transfer type, with 12 compartments in which the feeding of chemicals is by a “Desamixer” for detergent powder and by 5 Ecolab Liquid Detergent Dosing System pumps (further described below). The detergent can also be fed into the CTBW via the 6th dosing unit pump, this is optional for the Tenderer, to use a powder or a liquid detergent. The washing method is also by two Kannegiesser barrier Washer Extractors with a combined synchronized Dosing Unit for liquids (6 pumps) further information in the Tender documents.
