The City of Reykjavík requests tenders for a framework agreement for the purchase and rental of vehicles. The tender is divided into two lots: Lot 1, purchase of vehicles, and Lot 2, rental of vehicles. The agreement is intended to meet the City’s general needs for passenger cars, buses and coaches up to 5 tonnes, buses and coaches over 5 tonnes, goods vehicles under 3.5 tonnes and goods vehicles from 3.5 to 12 tonnes. More detailed requirements concerning vehicle characteristics, equipment, service, delivery, operation, environmental aspects and the needs of individual departments or units will be specified in each reopening of competition or written price comparison. Specially equipped vehicles used by Reykjavík Welfare Services to transport service users are excluded from the framework agreement.

The deadline for submitting requests for clarification is 1 October 2026 at 16:00 local time. The contracting authority intends to respond no later than 6 October 2026 at 16:00 local time. All requests for clarification and other communications concerning the procurement procedure must be submitted through the Correspondence section of the electronic tendering system. Tenderers are responsible for monitoring the system for responses, amendments and other additional information. Tenders may be submitted in Icelandic or English. Tenderers may submit tenders for one or both lots. The framework agreement will be concluded with all tenderers in the relevant lot who satisfy the selection criteria and all other requirements stated in the procurement documents.
